The Art of Pain :: Somatic Drifts
“Unexpectedly affecting in its…closely guided dislocations of sense and self as well as its emotive engagement…”

“Transporting and curious….like nothing else I’ve done…”
Participant responses, Adhocracy, Vitalstatistix
Somatic Drifts is a sensory, one-to-one artwork (with sessions to be held from 21-24 July) and accumulative audio-visual installation (20 – 30 July).
Somatic Drifts explores trans-human and inter-species empathy. It enables the participant to experience the bodies of other entities, through body illusion and touch. Bodies and narratives travel beyond their own boundaries to ask what realm does the human exist within? How far can we drift? What can this drift enable us to change?
Concept, design and performance Cat Jones, sound design Melissa Hunt.
Bookings required (limited sessions). Book for Somatic Drifts here.
Participants are advised that the live experience takes place in an enclosed space, involves gentle touch from the performer, and may induce temporary shifts in perception.
